Cookies

Some pages on this site use cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. They help to make our offering more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files downloaded to your computer and stored by your browser.

Most of them are session cookies, which are deleted automatically when your visit ends. Others remain saved on your end-device until you delete them. These allow us to recognise your browser the next time you visit.

You can set up your browser so you are notified when cookies are installed and only allow them in individual cases, prevent cookies being accepted in specific cases or in general and automatically delete them when the browser is closed. Deactivating cookies may restrict the functionality of this website.

Cookies needed to carry out electronic communication or provide certain services you have requested (e.g. the shopping basket function) are saved on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in saving cookies to provide its services in an optimal manner and without technical error. Where other cookies are used (e.g. to analyse your surfing behaviour), these are covered separately in this Data Protection Policy.

Server log files

The site provider automatically collects and saves information in server log files your browser sends us automatically. This consists of:

  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of accessing computer
  • Time of service request
  • IP address

This data is not combined with data from other sources.

The data is processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, which allows data to be processed for the performance of a contract or to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

Contact form

If you send us an enquiry through the contact form, your details in the form, including the contact details you provide, will be saved by us to deal with your enquiry and in the event of any follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The data entered in the contact form is therefore processed solely on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time. To do this simply send us an email. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

The data entered in the contact form will be retained by us until you ask for it to be deleted or withdraw your consent for it to be saved, or the purpose for it being saved no longer applies (e.g. your enquiry has been dealt with). This is without prejudice to mandatory provisions of law, especially as regards retention periods.

4. Analysis tools and advertising

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of Google Analytics, a web analysis service. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files stored on your computer that make it possible to analyse how the website is used. The information about your use of this website generated by the cookie is generally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google Analytics cookies are saved under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The site operator has a legitimate interest in analysing your user behaviour to optimise both its web offering and its advertising.

Browser plugin

You can stop cookies being saved by setting your browser accordingly; however, we would point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions on this site in full. You can also stop data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) being sent to Google and processed by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available on the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objecting to data being recorded

You can stop your data being recorded by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. This will install an opt out cookie that stops your data being recorded when you visit this site in future: Deactivate Google Analytics.

For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see the Google data protection policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Processing

We have entered into a processing contract with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

The demographics feature in Google Analytics

This website uses the demographics feature of Google Analytics, which makes it possible to produce reports looking at the age, gender and interests of visitors to the site. This data comes from interest-based advertising by Google and visitor data from third-party providers. The data cannot be attributed to any specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time in the advertising settings in your Google account or stop your data from being recorded by Google Analytics in general as described under “Objecting to data being recorded”.

Google Analytics Remarketing

Our websites uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in connection with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

This function makes it possible to connect the advertising target groups produced by Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. Interest-based personalised marketing messages can then be displayed that reflect your previous user and surfing behaviour on one end-device (e.g. your mobile phone) on another of your end-devices (e.g. your tablet or PC).

If you have given the relevant consent, Google links your web and app browser history with your Google account to do this. That way the same customised marketing messages can be sent to every end-device you log on to with your Google account.

To support this function Google Analytics records users’ Google-authenticated user IDs, which are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and produce target groups for cross-device advertising.

You can permanently object to cross-device remarketing/targeting by deactivating personalised advertising in your Google account: to do so, follow this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The data recorded in your Google account is combined solely based on your consent, which you can issue to or withdraw from Google (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Where data is recorded that is not combined in your Google account (e.g. because you do not have a Google account or you have objected to it being combined), the data is recorded under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is based on the fact that the site operator has an interest in anonymised analysis of visitors to the site for marketing purposes.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in the Google data protection policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking

This website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online marketing program of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).

As part of AdWords we use conversion tracking. If you click on an advert displayed by Google, a conversion tracking cookie is installed. Cookies are small text files the browser downloads to the user’s computer. These cease to operate after 30 days and cannot identify the user personally. If the user visits certain pages on this site and the cookie has not expired, both Google and we are able to recognise that the user has clicked on the advert and been directed to this page.

Every Google AdWords client receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot be traced across the sites of AdWords clients. The information gathered by conversion cookies helps to produce conversion statistics for AdWords clients who have opted for conversion tracking. Clients learn the total number of users who clicked on their advert and were directed to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that would allow them to identify users personally. If you do not wish to be included in tracking you can object to this by simply deactivating the Google conversion tracking cookie in the user settings in your browser. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

Conversion cookies are saved under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The site operator has a legitimate interest in analysing your user behaviour to optimise both its web offering and its advertising.

For more information on Google AdWords and Google conversion tracking please see the Google data protection provisions: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set up your browser so you are notified when cookies are installed and only allow them in individual cases, prevent cookies being accepted in specific cases or in general and automatically delete them when the browser is closed. Deactivating cookies may restrict the functionality of this website.
